Objective vs subjective

>IMO, objective tests, except in math, are bulls**t anyway.

The only kind of test that has any value at all is an objective one. Subjective tests are garbage. Anything requiring math in it is objectively testable because is it requires math, and if you cant do the math, that is immediately obvious and should be graded as such.

>I like essay tests to test the knowledge of students and also test the >students' abilities to communicate that knowledge.

I agree. But theres still no reason why objectivity should not be a cornerstone of literate type testing as opposed to math. Unless the teachers are too lazy to be rigorous enough in their preparation. After all the whole grade inflation is a symptom of a degenerate educational system from top to bottom, not just of greedy spoiled students. They dont get spoiled other than by teachers who hand out worthless feel good grades in the first place.
