Hey, quick question about weights and measures for R-12.

Is a pound of refrigerant equal to 16 ounces? i.e. is a
12oz can equivalent to three quarters of a pound?

Sometimes it's a liquid, and sometimes it's a gas, and I
measuring either one in pounds seems counterintuitive.
