Something like a JetHot 2000 will only promote heat transfer to the turbo with that setup. I had the parts on my WRX done in that manner, far cooler under the hood.

If I could get an extra trap oxidizer replacment pipe you could cut off and weld shut that EGR hole, then coat the pipe. Then put the extra money toward an efficient intercooler and cranking the IP up some.
I've considered getting 2- '79 300SD non egr turbo manifolds Jet hoted...to maximise spooling (yeah I know its not a huge ammount) look good and help underhood heat....trying to decide if the price is worth it...I think the intake exhaust pair is $180 to have done....but will vary with sipping at different places. I need to find a way to direct cooler outside air to my open intake filter as 90 degree F seems to be the breaking point with EGT........outside temps are affecting my EGT a large degree at 90..to the worse. I will do a intercooler when I find an aplication I can make work on a W116. I'm not touching my W123 at this time....its running way too sweet to mess with right now. One for the W123 and one for the W116. I am doing a citric acid flush on the W123 and installing a block heater on it soon....I do it from on top the engine...perfect time to put a crud free iintake on the car, a set thats been Jet hotted.
