I've had the grill off and I don't see any way to get the speaker off from the top. There is one bolt that looks like part of the dash support but there is no access to the backside of the speaker and nothing on the speaker to un-do or turn that would get it out. I did try to get at it from the south but didn't see it, but the mention of taking the hose off might help.
