I am looking at the schematics for the cruise control and the switch is getting straight current at terminal #15 trough the connector at the stop lamp switch which is located at driver's
footwell. Power is coming to the switch from fuse #5.
The wire color is red at the cruise control switch and then it splits into black/red/violet (going to the x20 connector at the lamp switch) and black/red/white (leading to the amplifier?s terminal #15). There is also a note here: For cruise control to be engaged, terminal 8 (on amplifier) must sense ground. When stop lamp switch is closed, ground is electrically removed. Hope this helps somewhat.
