You would be blowing some serious smoke at 1 qt per 100 to 200 miles. Check your spark plugs. If they are wet then the valve seals/guides are probably worn. You may be leaking the oil. Mine burns a quart every 800 miles, there is no puddle of oil under the car and the plugs are white, but when I hammer it getting on the expressway I occaisionally will see a cloud of smoke out of the rear view mirror.
