Later year 722s received a different band to reduce that as I recall, probably a few things were different...

Same type of thing applies when you go from standard OEM clutches (or band/s) to performance ones in domestic units, the shifts get considerably quicker and firmer. Partly due to the quality of the rebuild having no slop and proper clearances, but the rest is that the new material has far more grip.

Also you can add or subtract the amount of clutch return springs in the direct pack that applies 4th to soften that shift too if you wish... I'd advise against that as I'd prefer apply and at times these springs can resist centrifugal apply in lower gears.
