Thank you for the reassurance.

I am one of those guys with a 1995 E320 that has not replaced the head gasket or the wiring harness, so I was very relieved when I saw the tank was full. I just had the water pump replaced and I was afraid it was going to be the head gasket. I am hoping I don't have any more major expenses this year. The water pump and the kickdown actuator already cost me for this year, so I am hoping to stay clean for a little while.

I have had my car for 8 years, so it isn't too bad to have to pay to fix some of these things, but if you just purchased one of these cars with close to 100K miles, it would be devastating to face some of these very expensive repairs. Can you imagine just buying a car and having to replace the wiring harness, the head gasket, the water pump, the battery, and maybe even the evaporator. You could easily spend the amount you paid for the car, just for the repairs. That is a little scary.

I think it might be like always going back to that same bad relationship with an ex girlfriend.
You feel you love them too much, or you are just too stupid to know any better.
