I was debating with myself for some time whether I should convert my ’87 300D turbo to run SVO/WVO and enjoy some free fuel nirvana…
From what I heard merceds models up to that year used to have more durable “bullet proof” engines (never really got that term…
), and therefore they are safer svo converts then cars like mine and newer.
Does anyone know better or has a first hand experience with converting post ’86 models to run svo/wvo?

P.S. just to throw up in the air another one that bugs me: how come mb makes such legendary cars while its partner Chrysler/Dodge suck so badly???
