For sale:

1988 420 SEL. 143K miles. Battery shorted out and started a fire under the hood.

The damage consists of the items around the battery. Wiring harness, washer fluid tank, left corner of air filter housing etc. The dripping plastic from the hood pad also damaged the plastic top of the radiator and the intake hose plastic.

I have most if not all parts to fix it. Complete new wiring harness from another 88 420SEL, new air filter housing, washer fluid tank, plastic trim pieces etc.

Thought I'd have time to fix it up when I bought it. But I just don't have time to do it.

Damaged wiring harness portions have been trimmed away. You could splice the new harness on but I was going to replace it from the inside out.

It's diamond blue with blue leather interior. Interior is in great shape. Tires are great. The passenger side fender will need just a small paint touch up and the hood will need painting.

I'll take what I have in it. $3000 I figure the engine and transmission alone is worth that.
