A pic of your setup would help. I have a similar one on my 300CD, although I just got rid of the el cheapo catch can and oil seperator that came with the kit. They just melted and started leaking, pure junk. I got rid of the catch can completly and threw out the oil seperator, replacing it with an external seperator from a 82-83 240D. My rubber mounting piece from the intake to the turbo is deteriorating fast so I'm on the lookout for a replacment for it too.

I think you're referring to the drain tube that the air cleaner housing used to sit on? Mine too will blow oil back up out of it if left uncovered. You need to have your seperator sitting in it, with a preferrably new o-ring.
