Body Damage...easily fixable? (With pics)

My buddy has a 1983 240D that was recently hit by something, he isnt sure what. The rear window was completely shattered away, and there is damage to the middle of the left C-pillar, but nothing down on the quarter panel...had to be some kind of truck or something. He was not able to find out any information about who did it or what really happened. The major issue is the frame that holds the rear window is pretty bent, to a point where a new window can't just be thrown in there. He wants to sell the car, but doesn't want to put a couple thousand dollars into this repair only to sell it for 1500 or so. From the pictures, can you folks tell if this is something that can be fixed relatviely easily, just to get a window to go in, so he can sell the car? Or will getting a window in there require completely repairing the C-pillar? I was getting ready to buy the car when this happened, now I'm concerned it'll have to be parted out if the repairs are cost prohibitive. Thanks for any advice!
