and then pour it in your tank...(it works) and since
its free what does it matter how many miles a gal do you get..

everyone ask me how many miles a gallon do i get... well I
still get the same... no reduction... still 25mpg... but it does
not matter since its free....

everybody seems to think there is less power in the veggie oil
but it seems to be more for me... and the only time the power goes
down is when your filter is clogged...

if you have to do something to the oil... add a qt of moonshine...
hey blueranger....

i was debating on this technique....
have you converted your car at ALL? greasecar?lovecraft?

how long have you been doing this method..
do you not care if the car blows up?
cheaper then gas ?

do tell...
any leaky o-rings?

WVO filtering cost

I have a centrifuge that cost me $1000 5 years ago. I have replaced the motor 3 times. ($150) and rebuild 2 of them. I built a whole system of 55 gallon drums to hold the grease I bring home from my work at a restaurant that sells high end burgers. ($16-20). I heat the oil and then let is settle I use recycled water heaters for the heating I have purchased at 15 heating element. Sometime I forget to disconnect them and they burn out. Sometimes I spill a little. I heat the grease and then filter it once then return it to the tank and filter it again then again then I clean the bowl and filter it again. If the bowl is clean I put it in the ready to go tank.

That is all of the down sides. I can filter 30 gallons in a day down to less than one micron. I fill my wife Jeep 3 times a week 20 gallons worth plus I use 30-40 gallons a week in one of my two Mercedes. Every other week a local fella comes by and buys 40 gallons at $1 a gallon. I traded oil to a lawyer to have my will done. I have traded for beer and wine from other states.

I plugged a Kill-A-Watt meter into my system and it cost about 3 cents per gallon in electricity to filter the grease. When people by my grease they are donating to my electric costs.

That makes your yearly personal fuel usage (roughly) 5,200 gallons.

I would like to hear from people that have over 100k miles on there mercedes with unheated systems.Im talking about adding straight veg oil to the stock tank without blending. There may be a few in warmer climates doing this but cant imagine doing it in newengland with out heated systems.

I bought my 84 300d with 170k and added a quality designed two tank system.I now have 270k on the clock and still commute 50 miles a day on veggie.Starting a diesel motor on cold veg oil is just wrong imo and can only lead to much faster engine failure.

5000 might be high it is probably more like 4000. But do the math at $4 a gallon vs $.03 and you can see it might be worth the constant upkeep that I have to do. For the last 3 years my wife has done 40-50k miles per year. My Mercedes Odometers do not work but I would say 35k is not far off.
