Hello folks! My '91 350SD has a newly installed WVO system by GreaseCar and although it runs GREAT on WVO, the only way I can avoid stalling when I make the switch from diesel to WVO is to run the motor up to about 2500-3000 rpm's and flip the switch. It blips a little then will keep running smoothly, assuming the oil is hot enough.
I have emailed GreaseCar and now spoken with them on the phone and they seem to resist the idea that I do in fact need the additional 'boost' pump fo the WVO. I find that a little ironic because they also sell a boost pump for this exact symptom! Unfortunately it is a bit more expensive than a typical fuel pump, but they say it is designed to pump WVO and that it will not seize and burn out after 2 hours like some standard fuel pumps.
Has anyone else encountered a similar situation? I've already ordered the pump from GreaseCar on my mechanic's advice, but I'm just curious if anyone else has experienced this, too.
