DD as a WVO source

Anyone know if a Dunkin Donuts would be a good source for getting WVO?
I went into one nearby and didn't check what type it was... but they were pretty cooperative... and they do filter the oil after it's used so that's a +++; and there is no Meat donuts ...
It would be very fun to drive down the road and give off Donut fumes...(man it smells great in there!!!)

I have been told that most of the oil, used in making donuts, is absorbed into the product. They just don't have much waste oil. And besides that, the smell of that bakery would have the police following you around all the time. LOL

I went in the kitchen and there are 2 fryers with alot of oil. THese guys weren't sure exactly how much oil they dispose of monthly but figured around 55+ gallons... so I would be happy to take it...

Anywayz, I just spoke to Matt SD and DD oil is NOT good ; it's hydrogenated and will solidify; so that's a NO.

Pawo are you serious about trying this out??? I posted how to , and it's very cool to not pay for diesel; it works out to less than .50 / gallon this way; or 125 MPG (paid for gallons..) Alot of people are doing this ... for 1000's of miles....

you can use it. It will cost you a little more to do this. One your filtration system must be hot enouh to liquify the stuff to a viscosity your filter system can handle. (this stuff probably solid at room temp)

Your system in the car must be able to heat up the oil to a good working viscosity. you MUST start and stop on diesel. If you let this oil get to room temp inside your IP you will have to externaly heat the whole IP, injector lines etc. and then flush it out with diesel before starting.

I'd really like to try it but it gets ultra cold here in the winter, so I am not sure how viable it'd be....and I'm not sure if I can really afford the parts and things needed to use it properly......

Hey Austin 85; On a recent post you said you had a "Japeneese" place that would give you 40 gallons a week. Not impossible to use 40 gallons a week, but 40 gallons every week is a lot of oil.

I don't recall exactly; but they told me they use about 40 Gal / week;
I won't get that much....some willl go to their oil pick up service people ; but I dropped off buckets today for them to empty directly into so I don't have to dip in the dumpster anymore...20 Gal/ week should be plenty for me...

It is nice oil cola like; and I've been running good and start up everytime...

I don't think you can afford NOT to do it...
One tank of diesel cost you $50-$60....
I spent 15.00 on new fuel filters.
$5.00 on acetone which will last many months.
$6.00 on Diesel cetane booster also last several months...
(and $2.49 per gallon of RUG for every 5 I burn ....)

everything else I get for free!

sorry; $5.00 on a 5 gallon red plastic Gas container....

To heat it up in the cold weather you can get by with under $100. and by then you will have saved alot more than that by running a blend....

I don't heat because I am in south Florida..(yuchh)

I could work using 40 gallons a week
That figures out to about 1000-1100 miles with my mileage...
I'd be making trips all over the US I LOVE driving my 300SD
