92 300D 2.5 going to go SVO in two weeks w/greasel

Spoke to Rocky (very helpful) and Alex. The systems are going to be ready in approximately two weeks.

They are currently converting a 1996 model. I am going to go with the second tank option. It will sit in the truck in the right cubby hole.

Problem i am having. It seems that used vegetable oil has become quite the commodity. I have gone to restaurants like IN N OUT. They have a contract with a collection company. I contacted the company and some biodiesel guys have a contract with them for two years. I heard that Sams club has 5 gallon buckets for $2.00 a gallon. Cheaper than $3.35 gallon at 76

Has anyone converted the W124's to SVO?

Thank you

Nick Mendoza

I'm going to get started on my '87 soon but I'll be running WVO. I plan on doing a similar two tank system as I did on my '85 with the 617 engine. I imagine it should work. Do a search on how others have converted their cars.

Plenty of info for the 80's Mercedes - not a thing on the 90's

I have even asked guys who did the change over on the 80's ones. They have said that they did not know because the the injection system.

The guys at greasel said that there would be no problem. Start on regular diesel switch to SVO and then stop on deisel agiain. This is so that the system does not get any coating on it.

Has anyone had any experience with greasel?

Thank you

How big is this tank you speak of? I am looking for a relatively tall, narrow one to sit along the front wall of the trunk (I don't want to reduce the useable width of the trunk).

Don't go to chains, they will usually not help you. Find independent restaurants and for the best chance of success become a regular customer before asking.

I have not done a full conversion of my 124 yet, but I am gathering parts and running 50/50 WVO/Diesel for now. Works fine.
