WVO and SVO (whatever you use) has the same cleaning power as biodiesel, but the oil will leave some deposits on the injector. after my 4k trip i will take my injectors out and see if there is black stuff on them. i dont think that just running biodiesel will remove that, but some acetone soaking would.

if any of you are going to buy a cheap hand crank pump from ebay dont buy from PetersBurg trading. they sell them for 14.90 buy it now, and they SUCK. i ordered 2 more for me (got my first from someone else) and it took them 2.5 weeks before they even shipped it out. then they lied about how they would ship it the next day, but that never occured. i am finally getting my pump on monday, and have been holding off with filling my 300D up. i refuse to use my dirty pump to pump my clean filtered oil.

Thumbs up

This is the pump I got from Harbour Freight. I am very happy with it. Hi quality, lasts forever.....http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=34679

I read that SeaFoam in your spin on fuel filter will clean injectors ....

Use of Hydrogenated oil and Tallow as diesel fuel.
My first conversion was of a Mazda Capella in 2000. My fuel then was 100% Hydrogenated Palm oil. It provided excellent performance and economy and only needed around 2 - 5 minutes warm up to be ready for use. The ONLY down side was that I had to melt it before any handling or filtering.
I also had the misfortune to allow the oil to solidify in my IP. I have done this many times with no apparent IP damage. I worked out a process to recover from this situation:
I boiled the kettle and dribbled boiling water over the IP and injectors. It took a couple of gallons (9 litres to us SI freaks) of boiling water, but the oil melted and was pumped by the IP. The engine started and ran a little "lumpy" for a while, until the engine heated up and the coolant/fuel heat exchanger started to melt the lumps better.

When I had an opportunity to obtain canola oil, I found it to be much easier to handle, but still needed to heat to filter as there was around 20% high melting point oil in with the canola.

I purchased the Fatmobile (3) in March, 2004 and converted it using no tank or fuel line heat. Because of that, I needed to ensure that there were insignificant amounts of high melting point oils present. To do this, I "cold filter" at minimum overnight temperatures for that time of year and do not stockpile more than 2 weeks reserves of fuel.

I am completing the conversion by installing a fuel heater in my vegoil filter, HOH fuel line and heated fuel tank (Au$850 - OUCH). This will permit me to use high MP oils again.
You might wonder why I wish to have the ability to use the high MP oils. As more people convert to using UCO in their diesels, the availability of low MP UCO will diminish. There will still be plenty of high MP oils, but only those who have fully heated fuel systems will be able to utilise this resource.

Question

Tony...from down under;
Who other than people who live in year round warm climates, wouldn't have a fully heated system? Probably not many unless they only use UCO in Summertime....
So that should leave plenty of low MP UCo available for warm climate no mod users....Am I right????
