WVO is still a bit tricky, and not incredibly well understood. I'm not modifying my car for WVO simply because I want to keep it stock to protect resale value. However, I'm hoping for a day that you can put, "Spent its last 50,000 miles running on biodiesel" as a FEATURE to let people know that your car has less wear, and a cleaner engine.

peace,
sam

I'm not taking any side here either for or against either biodiesel or WVO. I just thought that the text selected for the OP was better read in context. It's fine by me if someone wants to post an excerpt here in a thread, but it's poor form not to provide the source.

Emissions??????

I have on an experimental trial run B-100 and later a B-20 or 30 mix......

Engine (OM603) runs much better.....exhaust emission are much less than dine....better lube for IP and injectors...........have no complaints.......go through imissions and you may voice opinion...........?

The closest Bluesun retail station is about 25-30 miles from me, I've never been there. It doesn't make sense to make a 50 mile round trip to buy fuel. In reality, I put on most of my miles traveling around the country. IMHO, BD will not be of much use to me unless/until I can get off a random highway exit and have a reasonable chance of finding a station that sells it. It just isn't mainstream enough yet. Maybe in a few years, if/when it becomes readily available, I will be comfortable enough with other people's experiences to give it a try. At this point, I still consider it an interesting experiment.

I've never seen B20/B100/B-whatever sold anywhere. It seems it hasn't hit the Maritmes yet. You guys say it's cheaper than diesel? At $1.019/l for diesel, anything less has got to be good.

I have a 89 Ford truck and have been running on wvo for the last 10,000 miles at 10 to 12 mpg that is a lot of savings.I could replace a few IPs or the whole motor easy on the money I have saved. You need to have clean oil and get it hot enough.I tow a 5th wheel trailer 19,000lbs truck and trailer and haev no power problems.I just sold the 240D that I converted you can not tell any differnce on that car when switching fuels .The 300 SDL is next.

Me too Craig. I am scared to death of this stuff now. I am such a chicken little when it comes to this fickle mistress known as a MB Diesel. I'm going fishing. Just got a fresh can of cope.
