what is it about that star that makes us get all squishy inside?

i have to say the old flat aluminum vw emblem up below the winshield on type 1s does it to me as well.

they just seem well placed. and large enough.

the neon has this wee tiny rams head on it, shaped like a shield. it just isnt the same if it isnt big and metal!

maybe thats why new asian cars have huge chrome emblems now? it just loses all its class(for me) whenever its the ONLY chrome piece on the car.

The ram (plastic) logo on our van's hood came off and slid down the hood onto our driveway when it was less than 2 years old. I superglued it back on, its been there since (5 years).

Our first van had a nice big chrome MB style ornament. times have changed....

These hood stars are dangerous for birds and should be removed.

Is this set up or did that sucker really fly in there? I figure if Randy Johnson can hit a dove with his fastball, this could surely happen ...

Pretty sure that is real...see the little splatter of blood on the hood? Unfortunate yes but I have tagged 4 birds myself...1 on the 240D and 3 in the 300SD. I hate it when it happens...they just fly so damn close and incorrectly estimate the airflow over the car.

Never through the hoodstar though...amazing aim!

That pic is something..
Many times I have driven into our community here near the "lake" and if I didn't slow down I would have had ducks fly into my drivers window.
It's like they wait for ya, and try to aim for the window!

That pigeon just exploded, didn't it? Probably wished it could have stumbled into a game with Jamie Moyer or some other soft tosser.
Good thing they don't play hockey outdoors anymore...
