Wvo--bio Mix

Last year I ran a mix of WVO and diesel,50/50 mix. I had no problems with wax, never changed my filters yet. Started making bio during the winter.I still have a bunch of WVO from last fall. Was wondering if there is any problem mixing bio fuel and WVO together? I figure it will be another month before it is warm enough to get out the 300sd..............I can not wait--thanks

As has been debated for 100 times. Running COLD WVO and you are asking for trouble. It needs to be heated, period! Mixing it with something else does not negate the fact that it must be used hot.

Will it work in your car? Probably. Do you want to take a chance? Depends on how deep your wallet is.

Not completely true Russ

Watch your ambient temps, if it's too cool out (visosity is up) your cold starts may be "grumpy." This is when you willl most likely have incomplete detonation related to poor atomization and low cyinder temps. Which can lead to coking and gumming of rings.

There were some incomplete tests run in Germany on a fuel called Tessol NADI II. Which is a mixture of 65% vegetal oil, 30% Bio-Diesel and 5% ethanol.

Your 50/50 blend will have good cetane value but can tend to be a little thick.

my son grabbed a couple cubies of wvo and not bio. luckily it was july . i poured a topper of bio in and the car ran fine, in july. i would only run warmed pre heated wvo in any diesel on a regular basis.
