For me it will never end. Being able to brew my own diesel is empowering. My car runs better and cheaper that it ever did on petroleum.

Biodiesel WVO Blend

I've been using this. Could the properties of biodiesel be the ticket to successful summertime fuel and environment savings -- ie blending with WVO? Could this be better than kerosene to blend with ? I blended in a jug and looked for separation after a week and did not se eany.

In my beater SD i put fattywagon injector line heaters and nothing more and have been blending WVO with B100 in a 70/30 proportion on average. Occasionally i just put 10 gallons of biodiesel in it and go for a while. I've gone about 2000 miles like this. So far so good. However I do have my doubts about this working for several summers. However i am going to try it. and am inclined to not add any more heat to the sytem just for the sake of this experiment. In cooler weather ill use b100 to B50. At any rate, im not worried at all about. love the car and I will only love it if it can run on WVO. If it can do it without much help, i will love it even more.

Does anyoone have any pictures of a WVO coked 617?

cheers,

cheers,
Look around on this guy's web site. He has pictures of an MB diesel teardown. It shows the opposite, no coking.

Hello All

I can honestly say that I bought the car partly because I wanted to experiment with alternative fuels, and that I wanted a larger, safer, nice looking, car.

I was so tired of people tailgaiting me in the tiny little car I drove at the time.

I did not start using alternative fuels until about 4 months ago. Since then I have been running used soy bean oil almost exclusivly.

I really like these cars (300D series) and I like that they run on alternative fuels.

I bought the car in pretty bad shape on eBay, for $ 810.00 , Since then I have put in several hours of work into the vehicle. It definatly looks and runs better than when I first purchased it.

On the flip side of the argument.

I can see that they are may cons, liers, thieves, and lazy asses that will destroy a vehicle whith their character defects.

I do not think that all alternative fuel people are destroying their cars. But I do think self centered *******s, will continue to be self centered *******s.

conclusion

Every time you start your car and drive it, your wearing it out. And even if you let it sit, it will deteriate all on its own. All we can hope for is a moderate balance between driving too much and letting one rust away in a field.

Because of burning used vegetable oil for the last 4 months I have saved around $300.00. That will help pay for any future maintaince the car will need, whether it be an oil change, or a rebuilt engine.

Just my 2 cents on the idea.

Love you all.
Thank you

I have thought about making biodiesel to run my car on, but it just seems way too messy. I also don't consider $3.00 a gallon to be "Sky high fuel prices" just because the television tells me it is. There are a few stations about 15 miles away that sell B2, but that particular blend really isn't worth the extra driving. As for using SVO or WVO, if someone wants to run their car on it, that is their business. If it brings the value of my car up, that's great!! For the first time ever, I actually purchased a car that I can sell for more than I paid.

Ditto on be able to sell your car for more than you paid for it! So far I have had half a dozen folks ask if I wanna sell my wagon. My standard reply is "everything has a price, this car WOULD BE at least $7000.00 IF I wanted to sell it". So far only one guy has called me crazy, the others told me to call them!

These old cars are on an upswing. WVO, Bio, Diesel may have something to do with it...but I also think folks just like the classic body style and MB star and they all talk about "run forever" (Yeah, if you piddle with 'em all the time).
