Question SVO fuel line: Has anyone tried 1/2" PEX?

Just wondering if anyone has tried using 1/2 inch PEX tubing for an SVO fuel line. The stuff tubing seems to be very flexible and strong.

Thanks for your advice.

Yes, although it can melt and leak in HIH applications.

Question PEX for SVO fuel line HOH

Was the PEX melting in contact with the engine, the heat of the coolant, or something else?

I am thinking of using 1/2 PEX as fuel line in HOH setup.

My idea is to have 1/2 pex for SVO and 1/2 Pex for the coolant

Any thoughts or ideas on this?

I believe it was in contact with coolant in a HIH setup. It will still become much more flexible when warmed and may kink.

Question PEX question

Are you having any problems in your application with the PEX?

HEre is a picture of my tank showing a 1/4" PEX as fuel hose in a 3/4" coolant hose.

This system has been working for 2 years without a problem and never experienced leaks or bending to the point of breaking the PEX.

It is connected to a 3/8" regular fuel hose as soon as it gets to the engine bay.

So I have been well served by the use of PEX and still consider using it in my second version of SVO system.

I must say though that thightennig of the PEX adapter is tricky because overthightenning can cut the PEX. So I suggest it is best you install it loose and run some hot fuel in the system and slowly tighten where leaks occur.

Bye,
