2 tank WVO people... Fuel temp at injector?

I think burning WVO in a properly set up 2 tank system is great, But I want the best possible bang for my buck, ie. the hottest oil.

Has anyone ever measured the temp of the WVO/fuel at the injector? I would think that the injector line/injecter connection would be a good place to measure. (Via laser thermometer or temp probe/gauge)

TIA

I get 160 degree oil at the injection pump. I think it would be hard to measure the temp of the oil at the injector due to the heat comming off of the head (which wil further heat the oil as well(

Thats pretty good temperature, I wonder if the fuel absorbs much from the injector and lines, or if they lose heat and it should be insulated.

I read a thread where the manufacturer claimed a 160 or 180 degree heater, but it was 120 at the injector line (measured by IR thermometer)

I'd want to be north of 160 degrees F @ the injector.

I would bet that the oil does cool down while in the injector lines, but the hot injector should heat it back up. You could also install some injector line heaters from fattywagons to give the oil one last temperature boost.

if your worried about the temp on the injector lines then try adding fattywagons injector line heaters. They wrap around the metal lines. fattywagon says " It heats the injector lines to over 200f in 1-3 minutes"

they arent that expensive either.

fattywagon heaters

I run fattywagon heaters with extra insulation over them and I get about 190-215°F before the injector highway running temps. The rest of my system heats to about 140-170 (200 sometimes pulling huge hills) before the IP, depending on ambient temperatures. The fattywagon heaters are great and I would defenitely reccomend getting a set.
