Sorry everyone
Yes, FLSA is the Fair Labor Standards Act and yes I do represent employees that have had their rights abused by employers. FYI: 70% of all employers nationwide do not comply with the FLSA. I am not familiar with the legal issues surrounding making biodiesel other than tax implications so I did not mean to cause alarm. Birmingham Alabama does not have biodiesel offered commercially and like everyone else I would like to stick it to big oil. Thanks for the suggestion to change my name but I'm proud that I help hard working people so I think I'll keep it. If you have to work you might as well be paid for it!! I'm currently using a blend, I guess I'll have to wait until Alabama catches up with the rest of the country. |

As far as B100 in Alabama, I can't help you, but I can understand why everyone reacted the way they did. If you are making B100 at home, you are probably breaking quite a few laws besides not submitting highway taxes. Little items like not operating in an industrial area, transporting oil in a vehicle not approved to do so in, too many explosive chemicals etc. etc. Maybe nobody is enforcing these laws, but who wants to take the chance? Regarding taxes on biodiesel, I noticed that NY State discounts the highway taxes by the percentage of bio. For example if it is B20, then the road tax is 20% less. If you follow this reasoning, then B100 would be tax free. But if I ever get to the point of making my own biodiesel, I will not be asking any questions, or talking to anyone in my village about making biodiesel.

It's not Biodiesel
Unless it's ASTM certified.
