I agree, I've had no leak problems with B100 at all, but a week after I ran a tank of ULSD the shutoff solenoid O-ring failed. All the seals and lines around my IP are only a year old and have never seen anything but B100. It is no coincidence.

Strangely enough, my Excursion has no problem switching between BD and ULSD.

No replaced the seals on the SDL a couple years ago, dry as a bone and expect it to stay that way.

20 year old seals leaking is to be expected, I don't view it as a problem.

ulsd leaks

Dieselbenzer,

Check with your local Bosch authorized service station...they will have
schematics of your I.P. and lift pump(there may be a rubber sealing "o" ring
inside of your delivery valve cylinder... if so that's the I.P. leak)(the lift pump
diaphragm is also rubber)In reading this thread I've realized that all rubber
components may suffer if exposed to ULSD.[I'd not thought about the fuel
shutoff valve (vacuum operated) which also has a rubber diaphragm]

Has anyone found any problems in using Viton replacement seals?

My '98 was bone dry at the IP until my second tank of ULSD then it started sprouting leaks all over the top of it. No way you are going to convince me and everyone else who had to replace the delivery valve seals that this was just a coincidence...there are just too many of us battling this all in the past couple of months. I'm not saying the seals weren't old, I am just saying they probably would have lasted much, much longer without having ULSD push them over the edge.
Knock on Wood but my 99 hasn't had any issues with leaks yet. The shop I go to has seen only 1 210 with issues of leaks so far

Soy oil gets the same milage as diesel, so it cost me $.40 a tank for a noticable difference in the idle. I now feel naked without it. Half a gallon seems to work when you want to strech your supply. It is a little hard to tell, as it takes more then one tank (either way) to notice the affect.

OK, so it runs a little quieter. The real question is whether it will do anything else other than change the sound.

Mine neither. Ran B20, LSD and ULSD with no issues
