Is it safe to put WVO in (new) gas containers?

Sorry - this is not a Benz question and is directed to the WVO'ers out there...

Is it safe to use these red plastic gas containers for WVO? (See attached pic) I know it is important to distinguish between gas and diesel/bioD/kerosene, but what about WVO? Will it eat up the plastic or anything? One of my WVO friends just gave me two gas cans to fill with filtered oil and I want to make sure it is safe before I do it.

yea.. just lable them WVO

i would have opted for yellow ones.. since yellow is for diesel ..im odd

the plastic will be fine. cooking oil comes in LDPE anyways .. i think its LDPE

you should look into some 5 gallon HDPE containers for storing and transporting veg..

I don't think there would be any harm. I keep two gallons of B20 in a red plastic gas can in my trunk. No softening, leaking or warping after a few months.

No problem at all, good sturdy jugs. Eventually you'll need to replace the rubber gasget. Thankfully Blitz has them available all over.
