Biodiesel emissions rival Gasser emissions??
Just out of curiousity, could somebody please report their SMOG results from their gasser car? Post it in % please. I am mainly interested in the hydrocarbons, Carbon mono, nitrogen oxide and CO2 emission. My biodiesel test result source is the NREL.
B100 Carbon M -43.2% Hydro C -56.3% NOx +5.8% CO2 -78.3% Random gasser models are welcome. Maybe 1990-2000 year. Thanks, Frankie

Just wondering how you can have negative percentages? That would mean you are using more of that gas than you are emitting.

I once tried to get a smog shop in Sacramento to run my TDI on their machine when it had B100 in it, they had no idea how they would do such a thing.
I've always wondered how much of CO2 was emitted and how much of a reduction it was vs. running dino diesel. Can you get a simple tailpipe sniffer for a decent price?

I'm pretty sure those are reduction measurements.

Those figures look like they are reduction % for B20 or B100 versus the old diesel 500ppm sulfur. They could not be compared to a gas car at all.
Thats why they are all negative numbers, meaning less emissions of everything but Nox.

I believe the baseline comparison is to dino diesel. The negative % means that it emits less than that of diesel? This is what makes sense to me.
Could someone get their gasser results out of the file cabinet and post it? Frankie

Discovery Channel And Biodiesel Now.
DISCOVERY CHANNEL is doing a show on future fuels hydrogen cell and biodiesel right now, this very second on West coast time. I'm watching it. GREAT press! LOVE it!

Yeah, but the bit on biodiesel was all wrong. They said biodiesel is petro diesel cut with straigh veggie oil, which it's not. And talked about the things you need to do to run straight veggie oil being changing the fuel lines, and then talked about having to change fuel filters due to clogged from gunk in the fuel system. That is what you have to do to run biodiesel, but to run straight veggie you have to do a lot more than that to run it properly.

Post your emissions results in their original numbers. Posting % is useless to compare, you need PPM (parts per million) or grams/mile.

I think that the show was putting more emphasis on biodiesel but they did mention veggie oil.
Sorry Forced, the chart does not show PPM. I did find a veggie oil partial results in PPM. HC 8 PPM NOx 587 PPM Darn that's all I have for you. Frankie

Biodiesel is co2 neutral
The co2 emitted from biodiesel is used up by the plants grown to create it. Dino fuel releases co2 that has been stored for millions of years making a huge increase in atmospheric co2.

The why is most of the "global warming" scare based around increasing amounts of CO2?

One point that no one makes.....
Quote:
I personally prefer to pay the folks who grow and produce the bio fuels here in the USA, rather than pay the folks who produce the dino fuels (who also want to kill me because I do not believe in the same God as they do)..... Buy bio-fuels, and stop exporting USA grown grain to petroleum producing countries.....and if they want to still purchase US grain.....then lets trade them 1 bushel of grain for 1 barrel of petroleum...... Let's see how much the OPEC nations are willing to pay for research into creating food from oil...... Let the USA follow Brazil's lead and wean ourselves off of imported oil..... Thanx for the soapbox... SB Note: the USA needs a comprehensive energy policy.....big time!!!!

Another way to look at it is that farmers busy making lots of fuel are not making food for us to eat.
