In your climate, you may be able to use filtered, dewatered WVO cut with 20% regular gasoline (plus biocide) and maybe a 12 V pad heater or on the IP lines. This would save lots of $ for a conversion and you can allways use dino diesel.

Vegoil

Go to frybrid.com --- read his archives. I see complaints about his customer service, but he seems to have high quality products ...

No. Viton is necessary for biodiesel, and fuel lines only - IPs are totally fine.

Whew. Glad to know that. I was getting ready to run out the door and check my IP.

What car are you looking to convert?

Cheers,

wagon

I just acquired a 1980 TD Diesel Wagon. I'm looking to convert it myself. I don't want to pay alot for the parts. Where can I get the parts at a good rate? Should I try Frybird. Will lovecraft just sell the parts?

Please dont go with lovecraft, they suck bigtime. If you ever plan on driving up north sacramento has fattywagon and they do great conversions.

You will be far better served with Frybrid, despite the rough-edged customer service. Lovecraft reportedly bypassed the factory filter by drilling a hole into it, and replacing it, naturally leaving metal filings inside to get sucked into the pump. Your choice, spend a little bit and ruin your car, or spend a little more and enjoy low cost clean fuel.
