Diesel fuel 46 cents a gallon?

I was searching for fuel stations on the internet when this ad popped up, diesel fuel for $.46/gallon. I went to the site, it's called Diesel Secret Energy, so I'm sure if it's a secret, it must be junk, but wanted to verify it.

Right. Their "secret" is just snake oil added to vegetable oil and some petroleum solvents. And it certainly isn't $0.46 a gallon anymore with gas prices over $3.00. Understand there may be consequences for starting a vehicle on vegetable oil like crankcase oil dilution/polymerization and coked rings.

My brother has put over 100,000 miles on his 99 F350 with a 7.3 litre turbo using "Diesel Secret" fuel made from peanut oil from a local fish resturant. The additive that the company sells may not be adding any value to the fuel, but the overall process works very well. His truck has over 300,000 miles on it with no problems. He makes the "fuel" for about 55 cents a gallon and mixes it with diesel fuel at a 60% VO and 40% diesel. What can I say. Snake oil will burn too!

Your brother may have modified his truck a little too. A nice heat exchanger to bump up the fuel temperature and a nice warm climate goes a long way.

That's not the receipe. It's more like 85% VO with kerosene and gasoline, plus a few drops of the magic stuff. So your brother isn'tt adhering to the "DSE" cult. And he's lucky too. How often does he change oil? What is the ambient temperature when starting the engine? 100k in only a couple of years sounds like a lot of highway miles...

from what I understand, the snake oil is nothing more than a mix of xylene and naptha. It is SUPPOSED to help the water in the oil so the water block filter can filter it out. Does it work, beats me, i do know that gasoline or kerosene does thin the oil out well.
