1995 E300 Diesel Fuel system questions. Gearing up for WVO
 

I am getting ready to feed wvo to my OM606 1995 E300D. Please take a look at the two fuel circuits that are shown in the picture. I am currently running my car with the "Modified fuel circuit."

My questions are:

1) Will feeding the output of the lift pump directly to the IP be too much pressure for the IP? The "original Mercedes fuel circuit" input a much lower pressure to the IP due to hose "A" which returns some fuel to the tank. If it is too much pressure, I am considering installing a smaller jumper hose from "D" to "E"

2) Is 180 def F to high of a temperature for the inline glow plug heater to produce? Is this bad for the lift pump or IP? The heat exchanger in the head only gets the fuel to about 120 deg F.

I don't know if I'd be running a 606 on WVO. They seem more "high-tech and precise" to me. They also seem like the would cost $$$$$ to fix say when everything starts to coke up.

Do the research on glow plug heaters. I've seen more than a few bad things happen because of them. Is there some reason you don't want to heat the WVO tank, or run a flat plate heat exchanger up near the engine using coolant? Might want to do a little more homework on the glow plug idea.

I'm still hoping to run mine on WVO one of these days -- just no time or budget for the conversion right now.

Talk to MDSIAV about plumbing. He is the only one I know of running SVO/WVO on a 606.

Where can I find MDSIAV? BTW, did you happen to discover my viton o-ring thread that gives a McMaster p/n for viton o-rings on Benzworld.com?

The oring sizes for the 606 have existed here for a couple of years. I have consolidated that info and filled in some blanks more recently as pertains to the 606.962 in this post.
