fuel economy on WVO/diesel mix

It has been warmer here so I have been running a little higher WVO percentage. On my last fill up I had less than a 1/4 tank. I put in 10gallons WVO and 4.7 gallons of diesel.

22mpg city.

Back when I used 1 micron WCO and 20% regular gas, I went from about 23 to 21 MPG. Costco soybean oil (when it was still 2.65 a gallon) and 20% RUG yielded the same results.

Funny thing, after the car sat for 1-1/2 years with the Costco blend in the tank, it started right up and ran great. I've been running dino juice since then and will go back to it if Dino juice goes past 4 bucks a gallon.

You are lucky. RUG tands to separate from VO after is sits fora few weeks.

That's interesting. I kept a glass jar full of the mix outside during hot summers & cool winters for 2 years now, just to check for that sort of thing, and I've never noticed any separation, paraffin or other problems. Any chemists out there willing to take a stab at why the two different results?

Just depending on in tank sloshing to mix your solvent with the oil will not be sufficient

According to Mythbusters a 10% reduction in mpg's should be expected.

I get 25 mpg combined city/hwy on my 5cyl turbo.

I run 90/10 WVO/RUG blend. I've never seen any separation of WVO and RUG on any of the blend I've had stored.

20,000 miles on the blend without issue.
