300E Turbo Diesel WVO Fuel and Coolant Flow

I am converting a 300E to WVO and am having a bit of confusion around the fuel filter and IP. Partially because it is tucked away.

Does anyone have an understanding of the fuel flow or a diagram?

Here is what I am figuring:
It seems to me that the fuel comes from tank to left side of filter housing where it is not filtered then leaves the housing at the bottom to the IP, from there it leaves the IP and goes to the filter where it is filtered and then goes back to the IP for injection.

Is this right? what is the unit that goes into the block from the very first fuel line coming from the tank?

Also does anyone have a coolant flow diagram? I need to Tee into the coolant flow for a heat exchanger.

Thanks so much for any help!

I am confused by the car designation, is it an E300 Turbodiesel (1998-1999)? You may want to look at the Frybrid and Greasecar forums also, if you haven't already. And you can look here: http://biodiesel.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/frm/f/159605551 All are useful forums.

From your discription it sounds as if you are indeed refering to a 606.910, 606.912 or 606.962.

Here is a schematic of the flow. Fuel enters the pre-filter, exits the bottom to the Shutoff valve to the lift pump, exits the lift pump to the main filter then back to the SOV and into the IP and from there to the inj's or return line.

Hello,

What type of kit are you using? Here is a link to my website for an Elsbett Conversion on a 98.
http://www.geocities.com/jaycimini/z98Homepage.html

I had to install a coolant heat exchanger . Fish around for useful information on the website. Here is a really basic diagram of the fuel and coolant.

This page has a picture of the existing mercedes heat exchanger just prior to the prefilter.

I have heard of others using the coolant line going into the windshield wiper fluid but I prefer the full flow of the main line.

Hope this helps a little. Good Luck

Jay

I think I have it figured out

Thanks for all of your help, I think I have it figured out now. I've done quite a few conversions I have just never seen so many lines to the fuel filter housing before and with the intake manifold, it's hard to tell where they come and go.

I think Terry meant the shutoff valve (SOV)
