Smile 69 mb 220d wvo?

hello.
new at this posting.
i just bought a 69 mb 220d for $500.
the fellow i got it from bought it at a estate sale for $450.
he didn't spend much time with it he thought the key switch was broke.
he didn't know you had to pull the knob out to crank it.
i had to do some research to learn how to turn on the glow plugs.
anyway i been doing some reading about wvo.
can i or do ya'll think i can run a 80/20 mix , wvo/kerosene.
i'm thinking with a block heater and good glow plugs it might do alright.
i live in middle tennessee.
maybe in the winter a 70/30 mix ?
let me know what ya'll think.
allen

Prepare to be flamed.

Anyhow, if you're going to run such a high percentage of wvo you need to either add the necessary components for a single-tank system, or just go all out and get a dual-tank system. Probably the most you could safely blend without adding ANY components to your car would be about 30% on a hot day.

I think you are ruining a very nice classic car. Unless you bought a piece of crap, don't burn crap in it.

No NOT 70% kerosene.

30% WVO, 70% diesel in the summer. Otherwise, get a kit.

You know, WVO may not be for you... you seem like you want a quick and easy solution, and, quite frankly, there isn't one. The absolute cheapest you could build a decent 1-tank kit would be $200. But, running on WVO isn't a matter of pumping from the oil dumpster into your car. You need to devote some time and money to filtering, dewatering, and testing your VO as well. If you really do have a nice 69 220D, don't run it on VO unless you're going to be putting your best into the conversion.

If I had a nice 220D that I didn't want to put much time/money into, I wouldn't run it on VO.

i think i posted a pic of the car on my profile, not sure.
a little rust behind front tire and the top of the back seat is dry rotten.
other then that it looks all original
sounds like biodiesel the best way to go.
