Svo Conversion Advice

Hello, I am thinking of running SVO and want a single tank system. With the price of diesel now 3.99 I need to do something. Can anyone recommend a really reliable kit? I live in San Jose Ca and will probably need someone to install it for me. If anyone can give me any advice that would be great.

Thanks!!

OK I gotta say it... Lovecraft does a nice single tank system...

Seriously, if you want a single tank, buy biodiesel not vo. If you are willing to do all the things that running vo requires in a proper two tank system and are willing to put up with the additional maintence then go for it it is your car...

Their old "conversion" was since it was basically an off the shelf Davco filter system. The new "conversion" is a stainless steel mesh strainer with a sock over it.

Glad to see such great advice coming from the typical nay sayers.....

If you want to run SVO, I would mix some kerosene with the oil. Your best oil will be Canola. Do not use any hydrogenated oil. Be prepared to change primary filters a lot. Also look at the WVO post on this list.

There is a lot of info regarding SVO WVO. Some of it is in a sticky up above.

Keep asking questions.

Lance, did you not detect the sarcasm in my reply?

as for mixing the VO with something it is your car, go for it if you want to. To me mixing RUG or kero means you are no longer running SVO.

I still say if you are going to collect and filter the oil anyway, go the distance and do the esterfication and washing to turn it into 'real' fuel...
