You mean close to $20,000 for a new motor, not just the injection system!

This guy has some g-nads!

I rather donate $20k to Orivs to help restore a stream than waste it on replacing the engine when a modern car is so clean already.

The guy also has serious know-how. As far as SVO/WVO conversions go, Ray is at the cutting edge.

He is the guy who makes the fully automated and programmable VOControllers:
http://www.vocontrol.com/

He was one of the first people to (properly) convert an om606. He gave me tons of help with my e300d conversion. It will be really interesting to follow this conversion.

Noteworthy: He is using one of the first "manifold" valve systems... it takes the place of 3 independant fuel valves. Really neat stuff.

You should probably inform MB.... they use them at the factory. Zip ties are without a doubt the best way to secure and route lines and wiring, especially if you need to be able to move them occasionally for maintenance.

WVO isn't about the environment, it's just some fetish that some people are obsessed with. Those who truly care about the environment would run on biodiesel instead of WVO which undoubtedly burns cleaner with similar CO2 output and is much safer for the engine. Even on regular diesel fuel the new engines already burn very clean, though overall CO2 output would be higher.

Biodiesel, mostly made from pesticide-laden soy and cultivated with diesel-burning tractors, won't save the planet either. In addition, plowing under fields of food for fuel has helped push up food prices around the world -- putting millions at risk of going hungry.

You're absolutely right, and I never said it would save the planet. I was just comparing it to WVO and it's the best we've got so far. I think the 2nd-generation biofuels will be a huge improvement over both WVO and 1st-generation biodiesel once they become mainstream.
