I wonder if power steering fluid would be good? No dyes or additives (I guess) like ATF.

I use at least a pint of veg oil per tank for lubrication.
When I clean the fuel system I use 1/2 diesel / 1/2 Dextron 3 ATF in a diesel giant purge 1/2 gallon type tank. And then drive it like I stole it. See here >>> http://www.dieselgiant.com/injectorcleaning.htm When it gets almost empty the stuff left in the tank is darkish gray. No noticeable smoke.
