While my 300sd is under the knife, being repaired for the panels around the rear windshield being rusted, I also need to purchase new fuel lines for the vehicle. My friend (has a nice body shop at his house) stated that the car is leaking everywhere and a lot of my fuel lines are rock solid.

I have been running B100, so I would like to go ahead and just replace all, most likely original fuel lines. Where is the best place to purchase? Does any company sell a Viton fuel lines kit? If someone could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again!

The hose kits include all the fuel hoses in the car, new hose clamps, and instructions. If you buy bulk you'll need to get the injector return line(1/8") as well as the 5/16" hose. The Viton is very expensive and biodiesel resistance. They also sell the SAE 30R9 hose which is viton lined and much cheaper, and a better hose for car applications, it's a little more durable. You can often find 30R9 hose in your local auto part house. I've used both for many years, and trust both, but the viton lined stuff is much cheaper. You can use standard hoses but they won't last as long, but will be much, much cheaper.

30R9 hose works at least as well, if not better then the fairly hard to bend, high durometer flourocarbon in the Greaseworks kit. $168? Yes, I know it's expensive. The same kit if they made it in 30R9 should be about 1/5 the price. I don't see one, just rolls of hose (which you can buy anywhere for a bit less then there, high volume locations like McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com/#sae-hose/=9g2jvb).

I needed some 1" transfer hose and found that I could get every size I needed and then some if I was willing to cut my hose myself and add connectors where applicable (Hoseman can add your connectors to the hose of your choice). For example, the hose screwed into the fuel outlet screen.

To be completely honest with you, I wouldn’t go with pure viton for the fuel hoses. I would only use viton 1/8 return fuel lines that go in between the injectors. I’ve used SAE 30R9 hose from both GATES & Goodyear for years on my car and clients cars and they have worked out great. I believe they have a small amount of viton inside the hose, but are not 100% viton. So they are way cheaper and can be found in almost all auto parts stores. Do make sure you replace the fuel hoses that our coming out of your diesel tank. Because they are most likely 20 years old too.
