Probably the tax difference, since diesel is taxed @ $0.20/gal state tax. They don't have to render unto Caesar what is due, since he's exempted it as a production and sales incentive.

A blend of biodiesel fuel with petroleum based diesel fuel is designated Bxx, where the xx represents the volume percentage of biodiesel fuel in the blend. For example: B-20 is 20% biodiesel and 80% petroleum diesel. Texas state tax is paid on the percentage (80%) of petroleum diesel fuel gallons.

And just in case you really want to calculate the taxes on the fraction of fuel that was consumed over miles travelled in different states....

I used to be a straight WVO runner in 3 of my cars because I couldn't see how the grease could reduce compression. Then I read the article here on the forum about the grease hardening between the rings and the pistons and it makes sense, especially if you just inspect your Fry Daddy. The grease solidifies and prevents the rings from floating as they should, eventually causing loss of compression. It makes sense and I have stopped running grease. I'm convinced the savings in diesel fuel savings will eventually cost in repairs.
As for Biodiesel, I don't know anything about the science of it, but I do know the all this "GOING GREEN and ALTERNATIVE FUEL INCENTIVES" from the government is a load of crap. The only green they are interested in is green dollars. There are tax incentives for saving on home energy but extra taxes for reducing emmisions, decreasing petroleum dependencey, and reducing waste. Does that make sense to anyone?
