wvo 99 E300 using excessive motor oil

My car is burning thru a quart of Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck oil every 500 miles and at $7.50 a quart is getting expensive. The car was converted to a Golden Fuel WVO 2 tank system and runs great. It does make a slight light blue smoke. Is this excessive motor oil use related to the Veggie oil system? Other E300 TD owners experience this?

From what I've read on this forum you might have a stuck ring or two. apparantly direct injection engines don't atomize WVO as well as IDI engines and thus you get WVO on the cylinder walls that turns into a gooy mess, (think deep fat fryer brown) Well the rings scrape this up and become stuck.

Search this site for stuck rings

FYI, the '99 OM606 is still IDI. And I would agree on the stuck rings.

Stuck rings is probably it. Some have had success with water injection, others with soaking with MMO.
What temp is your oil being heated to prior to injection?
What sort of oil?
Do you do lots of short trips ( less than 5 miles)?
It is probably worth building up a bank of info on problems & what operational conditions are associated with them.
