greasecar kit wired issue no diesel car stalls on wvo

so i have this greasecar kit 2 tanks in my 84 300sd not sure if i have an air issue on the wvo side... but i notice when i run on wvo it runs okay, slow and wack... (i been driving for like 4 month) unknown if thats normal, when im on diesel runs much stronger,i changed the filter about 4 times like ave. once a month, then loss power because im assuming it get filter gets clog up.

i notice when im driving on wvo tank and for some reason when my diesel tank is empty car dies...its like im running on blend In order for me to run on wvo, i need diesel in my reg tank, its wired is that normal? what could be wrong with my system?

thanks
louis

It could be that you have a venting problem. Does the WVO tank cap swoosh when you open it? In any case, try loosing the cap on the WVO tank and drive it that way. If it improves then the cap or vent maybe clogged. If it is not, then I think you have an issue with the valves not closing off the diesel source that you are not using.

Go to Greasecar Vegetable Fuel Systems | Greasecar Vegetable Fuel Systems and find the maintenance tab. They have a writeup with pics for cleaning the cap and the pressure relief valve on the WVO tank.

i had the same car and installed the kit with a friend of mine. i had the prob with the car running poorly on wvo - runs fine on diesel, switch over, runs badly, switch back, no prob. the problem turned out to be a bad priming pump. apparently when they get old, they go bad, fastlane overnited me a pump, solved the problem immediately.

One of the critical issues in running wvo is filtration, make sure you're doing that well also. When i started, i didn't do that well, and it created problems that cleared up when i got that right.

not sure about the shutting off when your diesel tank runs dry, this may be a stupid question, but are you sure you're running wvo?

Any hose or connection that allows air to be introduced can cause power loss. Greasecar systems loop the return so any air introduced will not purge unless you switch to diesel. Even a purge cycle sometimes will not purge all the air out.
