Flashing red light when on diesel, green light when wvo

I have an 1984 300d with a 2 tank system.
I want to install a 2 lights on my dash.
1 red and 1 green
The red light will flash when I'm running on diesel and the green will stay on when I'm running on wvo.
Sometimes I forget to switch over to wvo until about 10-20 miles into a trip and I want a reminder that I'm running on diesel when I could be running on wvo.

I also want a light that stays green when I'm on WVO. This way I will know if the Pollak valves are working and a fuse hasn't been blow.

If there's no power to the pollak valves, the default is to run diesel and I'd like to know if this happens. If no power is going to my cross over switch than neither light would be on and I'd know the fuse was blown.

It would be nice to have a auto switch over when the temp hits 160 but I don't mind manually switching over. I just hate it when I forget.

Has anyone done something similar to this?

What kinds of lights did you use and where/how did you mount them? I'm not great with electrical stuff but I can hack my way through it.

Thx

pete

Here is my controller/display (kind of archaic now, been in the car 7 yrs):

The mini toggle has an LED tip (hard to see in pic), lights up grn for veg and red for diesel. requires soldering in a resistor.

An adjustable (01-120 sec) time delay relay controls automatic purge cycle.

Personally, I like the simplicity of analog devices, but I do also like the copilot digital controller, probably would have gone this way but they did not exist at the time.

Rocker switches were for originally for electric heaters, but I have since ditched them since i do not find them necessary and dislike using electric heat for WVO.
Now I use the switches/relays for fog lights and front aux fan.

Car also has a 120V circ pump that works with blockheater, but the pump does not seem to do much unfortunately. I really want an Espar for this car since I drive it on veg year round.

The LED tipped toggle avaialbel from McmasterCarr

If you want to use different colors lights and that too in effective manner you can opt for LED lights.

You can get a rocker switch that has lights on it.
...or if you need them on the dash, you could run the lights of relays attached to your switch.

other ideas??
