I have read on this and other threads that it might accelerate the breakdown of injector seals. My experience is that, after 55K miles on B100, my 300D is purring along without any injector problems.

seals will break down......eventually
If your 1980 300SD injection pump has the original rubber seals in it, I expect that with time, you car will be capable of making a sizeable mark when parked for a week.
Here's what Coda did before I re-sealed the injection pump during a 9 day trip: Coda, 1986 300SDL, the journey continues........

I think it will make a big difference if you are talking real properly processed Bio-diesel fuel or as seems to be happening alot lately using waste vegtable oil and mistakenly calling it bio-diesel.Also what percentage of BD you use,if you are planning to use the most commonly available commercially processed will be about 20% bio and will not likely cause any leaks that were not going to leak sooner or later anyway. If you are going to be running 100% i would change the delivery valve seals and the fuel hose as a precaution and be prepared to clean the fuel tank before using it or plan to change some fuel filters and have some in the car at all times until the bio cleans the tank and plugs the filters as iy WILL clean the tank. I am not sure there is any rubber o-ring in the 617 engine's IP. OM60x, definitely, in many years.
