wmo ip helper pump question
I asked this in the diesel forum and was told we can talk here without worries. So im building a 2 tanks system to run wmo.Thats another thread!! im running a 50/50 mix and I like it. Much quieter!! I drive 70 miles a day 16 miles up a step climb and cutting the gas bill to 40 buck for a full tank was great. I noticed a loss in power and wanted to install a helper pump to help push the thicker fuel. Plus it will make me feel better so I dont burn out my lifter pump. I was suggested a 12 psi pump. My question is can i run a 20 psi pump? I have money in amazon my wife said I can spend on a pump and I cant find a 12 psi.

Try blending your mix with 80% WMO and 20% Regular Unleaded Gas (RUG), you will find better performance and mileage. Are you doing a water injection or HOD? If not I recommend them if you're going to use WMO.

Sounds good are you talking regular gas straight from the pump?
Also can you let me know about the fuel pump 20psi max pump ok? |

Yes, regular unleaded gasoline or you can use kerosene as well. I've been using RUG to thin the oil out to match the viscosity of D2, thus far I have not experienced any problem running it in my 2012 3500 Ram. Mush older diesel runs better with it, our church bus which is a 1991 with a Ford 6.6 turbo engine runs 100% on it and actully gets better mileage and runs quit. But I must admit the water injection and HOD helps a lot with the performance and mpg (15 mpg). |

Where did you mount this pump? After reading this post again, I started to get the initial question. Here it goes: this pump you are looking for to assist the "lift pump" is the same pump where the "prime pump" is mounted on? Is this a correct line of thinking? If so, then the only place to mount an assist pump, an ideal place would be right there at the end of the steel fuel line before the primary fuel filter. Am I on the right track here?
You can get a 9-12 psi diesel electric fuel pump from a local parts store. If this helps get the thicker fuel (WMO) to the IP, I am going to get one and install it between the end of the steel fuel line in between the primary filter. will that work? |

yes I had my first pump at the firewall after new location for primary filter.
when running grease I had pump in the trunk to push both diesel and wvo. I found that a helper pump, really makes my car charge up mountains.

Thank you and my apologies for taking this long to get the picture. I have a new project for Miss Doris. Going to get the electric pump and mount it close to the primary filter. |

Most primary filters are at the motor mount and changing you drip fuel.It kills the motor mount,so I moved to another area.

I noticed that and when I did drip some fuel I started to put a small coffec can underneat. But re-locating is a great idea, I will do that when I finally install the new pump.
