350SD or 350SDL--Anyone else own one?

Or am I the only one?

Not the only one by a longshot.

My '91 350SD now has an '87 OM603 3.0 litre, running the 3.5 IP and turbo, #22 head. Runs great, mpg consistently btw 26 and 28. No oil consumption btw 5k o&f changes.

I've owned 3 so far. The first a '91 350SD with 510,000 miles drove it until it was totalled at 535,000. A "91 350SDL with 359,000 miles drove it until 405,000, when it it's transmission died. And now my current one a '91 350SD got it with 193,000, currently 198,000. All with the original engine to the best of my knowledge. Wonderful cars to own and drive and with all the hype about the rod-bending it keeps the prices so depressed that they're virtually a bic lighter car. Whern something breaks you just toss it away and move onto the next one. There's currently one listed on the Copart site in Virginia with 419,000. As I recall there's two other people on this forum who have them with with over 500,000 miles. Hopefully when my current one is all used up and into the realm of the bic lighter there'll still be some left. They're getting more rare all the time. But to assure the low prices people keep on slamming those good for nothing rod bending pieces of garbage!!!

I have a 90 350SDL that rides well, may have a small slow leak somewhere, am not sure. Has a rep[lacement engine but my HVAC is hosed up and I have been the victim of bad advice on that one. It had a radio, I pulled it out because it didn't work, may replace it with another Becker.

What I really need is some assistance / tech info on working on the HVAC
