In Canada biodiesel is added to all diesel fuel to reduce particulate emissions in all diesel vehicles. It's made from un-marketable canola oil.

I add BD to my diesel fuel to run B20 [approx] in my Toyota truck. It reduces my fuel cost from $5.00/USgal to $3.60/USgal. Currently running B26 in temperatures around -20F, no problems for the past 4 years doing this.
Simple, easy cost effective. All I had to do was add a FPHE to heat the fuel, no other mods required.

New guy here, I've been cooking my own BioD for over a year and run it in both my GMC trucks. B99 in the warm months and B20 in the cold months. I plan on using it in my 1993 300D Mercedes that I just bought this morning as soon as I fix the rough idle issue.

my cost is about 1.40 a gallon not counting labor

Even if it went up to $5 or $6/gal, my cost per mile would basically be inline with the average 300e driver today. Hardly worth worrying about.
I lucked out today and got diesel for 4.29 today.

That's why I'm gonna be making it when I retire or sooner.
Plus do a centrifuge and clean out some WMO.

I have people looking for industrial centrifuges for me as well as low pressure, medium temp 1 micron filtering apparatuses.
