Magic combo for tons of power
 

So I was on the last bit of fuel on my 83sd and I didn't want to run out. I added half a quart of transmission fluid (Honda type) half a quart of marvel mystery oil, and about 4 ounces of seafoam left over from my motorcycle carb work to the fuel tank.

The car started fine as there was still reg diesel in the lines. It drove completely normal for a few minutes, then out of the blue, the thing went to plaid. I was going up a steep hill and all the sudden I felt my stomach hit the differential and I was in the next county before I had time to realize what had happened.

When I had slowed enough to hit the gas it went right back to plaid.

Only lasted about 2 or three minutes, but it was awesome and I wanted to share.

Think it cleaned up the injectors some?

That's what the seafoam is prescribed to do, wasn't my goal but I bet it got some gunk out. Probably should swap the little clear prefilter out now to prohibit restriction. One of those three things obviously had a lot of BTUs. I even had the AC on and it still went to warp 9.

I'm wondering if your seafoam opened up the molecules in the tranny fluid and or the MMO, allowing a bit of a super cetane boost sort of condition.

I've done straight MMO purges and the engine loves it. You can burn a lot of junk out of your motor with just MMO and it's cheaper than the actual diesel purge.

The Seafoam engine conditioner stuff is basically the same as diesel purge as the main constituent in both is naptha. This has led me to the notion of concocting my own additive mixture of pure naptha to my tank regularly. It would dissolve anything but rocks stuck in the screen and really clean the fuel system. It'll clog a lot of filters on the way too...

You might want to do an honest diesel purge and a valve adjustment after that run if you think you really burned a good amount of garbage out.

As for the warp drive, could you possibly have experienced a bit of a runaway or did you have full control of the throttle the whole time?

My 220D is from the days before warp drive was installed on Mercedes. She still runs with good old fashioned mules pulling steel rimmed wagon wheels through ruts in the prairie.

That's the ATF. I ran out yesterday and dumped 2 gallons of ATF in my tank to get me to a gas station. Blows a ton of smoke, but it cleans the system and burns nice :) get quite a boost from it also, beat an older power stroke at a stop light drag race running it :)

atf does clean out the system, also if find the eng ran smoother too.

another Q. is will synthetic atf or motor oil burn in our diesel panthers?

Yes. I have not purposely ran fully synthetic but the mix of WMO I have used is bound to have had some synthetic in it.
