Latest model running WVO

Just curious, what is the latest model that anyone has successfully run WVO (two tank system) in. I know the W115/116 and W123/124 are perennial favorites, but what about a W140, or W210/211?

IF so, what year and how long have you been running it?

2005 Mercedes E320 CDI

I searched out this model to have the I-6 engine with simple emissions. The ones with the DPF will be very very difficult to convert.

It seems to run good been about 25k miles. I needed a $500 fuel pump for the veg and it has a 36 gallon tank in the trunk. I used a heater to make sure the common rail was hot. Needs the oil changed at least every 5000 miles. But it does not have as much of a power loss like on the 5 cylinder turbo diesels, or my wife's Jeep Liberty CRD.

I just finished a single tank conversion on a friends 1999 E300 turbo diesel. But it has only been 2k miles.

Friends don't let friends run single tank systems.

That's just my opinion... (your mileage may vary)

As you get to newer, more computer controlled, injection systems, computer programing and sensor spoofing will become more important than the physical installation of the parallel fuel system. That is just the technical side, then there is the whole legal side of altering the fuel system that would be an issue if you have to have your vehicle inspected.

Singe tank

I think I told him the single tank was a bad idea a few times but he first did it to an 85 300sd then it worked for more than a year and he got tired of not having A/C. And found an elsbet kit that said "you can one tank a 99"

I helped him install it. And it was a pain in the butt. It had new glow plugs with a new timer for the glow plugs we had to take off the intake manifold and the fuel fittings are just down right a poor design from the factory. The kit came with new injector tips that I believe make it fire early. The EGR was a royal pain also. The electric heater on the fuel filter gets wicked hot real quick.

We will see how it work after a few years. I am saying the same thing about my 05.
