I toyed with the idea, then decided it wasn't worth the hassle/danger. I can run 100% wmo in my om617 so not worth the hassle

Good luck cleaning that stuff. It's tuf. Even spinning a few gallons in the centrifuge took forever to get a cup full of goo. I am thinking non-diesel engine oil would be the easist. Also, motor oil has stuff in it to make it not want to burn (for obvious reasons). You can cut it with RUG or #2, but there's a ton of "dust" or "silt" in it which will sneak past your filters and goo up your injectors. It will destroy your nozzles eventually, even low mileage ones.

My only thought is store the WMO in bulk then crack it when you need it, you could have a reserve of home heating oil, diesel even gas you could run in a none diesel car.

Yes, with a band heater on a pretty small drum container so that stuff was 180F ballpark. The only time I ever saw waste motor clean was in a 1954 Packard I used to own back in the last 80's. I bought the car and the PO stated the car / engine sat untouched for 20 years. That settled out the oil. I pulled the pan and poured out the oil and it was clean as if poured out of a new jug. There was 1-2 inches of goo in the sump.

Have you tried filtering with a 1 micron filter? Did you filter at all?

I store non diesel motor oils for emergency fuel.I would think diesel wmo would be full of carbon, which would act as lapping compound on my injectors.

I blend my gasser wmo with the diesel wmo, then blend in the diesel, then centrifuge. Havent had to heat it and still have good results. I tried to keep things simple. My fuel is still black in color. No dirt though.
