fuel hose kits

hi, does anyone have experience with the biodiesel fuel hose kit sold by greaseworks or **************.com?

https://**************.com/store/biodiesel-flexible-fuel-hose-replacement-kit

i'm also wondering if the clamps are really a concern, since ************** advertise their "quality European hose clamps. (These are the type that do not cut into the hose if you overtighten the clamp"

thanks!

are we censored from talking about other parts suppliers?

I have used them, and I buy german clamps for fuel only.U.S. type hose clamps are better for heater, and radiator hose. But finding one made in america is hard, most are chinese and they strip out easy.

the mercedes source .com fuel hose kit, says this:

PLEASE NOTE: Injector return hose is not included in this kit. We do not sell Viton fuel injector return hose for running Biodiesel. Have had too many reports of it coming off the injectors while driving. We recommend you purchase the standard injector return hose and change it once a year.

can anyone attest to this being accurate or inaccurate since it's been a few years? or if a viton or equivalent synthetic hose for the return line stays on fine?

they use parker hoses, and claim they're way better than viton.

also, not to change the topic, but i didn't want to start new one, if you're only running biodiesel periodically, say 1 out of 4 fills, is this going to be an issue with the fuel filters? as i understand when first running biodiesel, it'll clean up all the petro gunk and be collected in the fuel filters. everywhere i've read said just change the fuel filters after the first few runs, but i think everyone was planning to run biodiesel full time. i'm wondering if i'll just be constantly needing fuel filters if going back and forth...

there are so few people running biodiesel in new york, so i'm hoping to hear from someone that's been doing it for the last few years in california or wherever it's more readily available.

thanks!

If you have an o'Reilly near by, ask for item# 27314 and it's about $1.99/ft.

It is Gates Barricade fuel hose and is rated for biodiesel, and even Methanol. I've had it on my cars for a while now and have no issues with it.

For the return lines, I got the hose from the dealer after reading everyone's experiences with it. I believe the issue with the viton hose was some of it doesn't hold up well with heat, and the injector area gets pretty warm. No issues with the dealer hose. If you leave some extra on the lines when you cut them, if you need to remove them for some reason you can cut the ends off and they will fit tight again when you reinstall.

thanks,
it looks like o'reilly doesn't ship, there isn't one near nyc.

do you really need 5 feet? i thought just 2-3 feet was enough.

Do you have a w123? Are you talking about the return lines or the main fuel line?

I need to pick some up anyways. I can buy some extra and ship it to you if you want? It shouldn't be too expensive if I ship it USPS first class. Shoot me a PM if you want me to get some for you from oreilly.

Those fancy clamps are called "fuel injection hose clamps". They're cheap, every parts store has them.

You just need "fuel injection rated hose" The name brand fancy stuff lasts longer, but the cheap stuff isn't too bad either.

Nylon blends or Tygon can be ordered online if you want clear.

I've got Tygon lines as my injector return lines, it holds on fine.

this is what I used:
\"Amazon.com:Amazon.com: Du-Bro 800 1/8" x 3' I.D. Tygon...
And if anyone doesn't have an Orielly near them, I found this:
Amazon.com: Gates LP (Low Permeation) Carb Fuel...Amazon.com: Gates LP (Low Permeation) Carb Fuel...
Thanks for that part number Capflya, I'll have to pick some of that up.
