WVO, SVO and Trap Oxidizers or Oxidizing Catalysts
I was reading my owners manual for my '85 300D and noticed it said not to use any non approved additives since it could damage the trap oxidizer. I was wondering how using SVO or WVO might affect the trap or catalyst.

Another reason to do the swap!

The problem with additives is that some contain metals that will "poison" the catalyst and render it useless (and usually plugged). WVO/SVO contain carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen only if properly prepared. The only other contaminants would be proteins, and those only cause plugging of filters, not catalyst damage.
